Synopsis:
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967, the hardened "Greasers" and the affluent "Socs" are locked in a relentless battle for survival and identity. Based on S.E. Hinton’s seminal novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic film, The Outsiders reimagines this classic story as a visceral, cinematic Broadway masterpiece. Following Ponyboy Curtis, his brothers Darrel and Sodapop, and their "found family" of outcasts, the musical explores the thin line between "have" and "have-not" and the universal quest for belonging.
The production is world-renowned for its groundbreaking, hyper-physical choreography. With a soulful folk-rock score by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance) and Justin Levine, the music captures the raw ache of adolescence and the rugged beauty of the American heartland. A winner of 4 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Direction, The Outsiders is a haunting, high-energy tribute to the bonds of brotherhood and the hope that stays "Gold" even in the darkest of alleys.
