Synopsis:
He is the King of Pop, a global icon of unparalleled artistry, and the man who redefined the music video. MJ takes you inside the creative mind of Michael Jackson during the high-stakes rehearsals for his 1992 Dangerous World Tour. As Michael and his collaborators push for perfection, the musical flashes back to the pivotal moments that shaped his career—from the childhood stardom of the Jackson 5 to the record-breaking success of Off the Wall and Thriller.
With a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and Tony-winning choreography by Christopher Wheeldon, MJ features over 25 of Jackson's greatest hits, including "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "Smooth Criminal," and "Man in the Mirror." The production uses gravity-defying movement and stunning visual effects to explore the pressures of fame, the weight of legacy, and the singular drive for excellence that propelled a boy from Gary, Indiana, to become the greatest entertainer of all time.
