Synopsis:
Step into the soul of Havana with Buena Vista Social Club, the 2026 Grammy Award-winning musical inspired by the legendary 1997 album. This vibrant production tells the "true-ish" story of the icons who survived the revolution only to find a spectacular second act forty years later.
The story flows seamlessly between two eras: 1950s pre-revolutionary Cuba, where young musicians like Omara Portuondo and Ibrahim Ferrer chase stardom in the swanky Tropicana-style nightclubs, and 1990s Havana, where an ambitious record producer reunites the now-forgotten legends to record a landmark album in a dusty, vintage studio.
Told through electrifying Afro-Cuban rhythms—including Son, Danzón, and Bolero—the musical features a world-class onstage band that recently received a Special Tony Award. With breathtaking choreography, Buena Vista Social Club is more than a concert; it is a moving tribute to survival, the resilience of the Cuban spirit, and the extraordinary power of music to bridge generations.
